A brief story of how I got here

My name is Catherine Elizabeth Daniel.  Catherine stands for "pure one," which is found in Matthew 5:8.  "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."  I was born on March 1, 1979 at Dekalb General Hospital, so you do the math if you want to know my age.

My parents are Suzanne and James Daniel Sr. I have been raised in Conyers, GA all of my life by strong Christian parents.I have an older brother James, who is almost four years older than me.  My sister, Dawn, is two years younger than me.
My sister, Dawn, just had a baby boy named Joshua.  He was born on September 17th, 2000.  He has been a blessing to me and my family.
I attended a Christian school from kindergarten through my junior year.  I became a Christian on May 26, 1987 with the help of my parents.  As a child, I love playing with my neighborhood friends and getting as dirty as possible.  I was always the shortest kid in my class, and I was extremely shy.  I was very curios and explored everywhere I went.  I approached middle school which was going to be a challenge for me.  I started exploring and figuring out what my interests and gifts were.  My PE teacher, Miss Puckett, saw that I had a talent in volleyball, so she made sure to challenge me.  Middle school was really difficult.  One of my closest friends, Nancy Tshmala, passes away.  I became very bitter at God for what had happened.
I entered the part scene with my friends in high school.  I tried to play a variety of sports like cheering, softball, basketball, but volleyball and tennis were always my two favorite sports.  I was not an aggressive player; I just enjoyed playing sports and having fun.  I transferred to a public high school my senior year, so that was a big change for me.  I was offered a volleyball scholarship to ABAC and started attending there in fall of 1997.

This is ABAC's volleyball team in 1997

My life was straightened out through many circumstances.  I worked at a Christian camps for the next tree summers and realized that God had called me to missions in the area of recreation.  I was content to work with children and youth.
Presently, I am seeking a Health and Physical Education degree at Valdosta State University.  I am on the five year plan and will graduate in Spring of 2002.  I changed my major five times at ABAC, and I realized that I was not seeking God's will but my own.  I am amazed by how much God has blessed me with such a fulfilling life.  My life verse is I Peter 4:9,10.  "Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.  Each one should use whatever gift he as received to serve other, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."   I am reminded that God created me for the purpose of His honor and glory.
In the future, My number one priority is to serve the Lord will all of my heart.  I am going to work at Crossroads Camp this summer with youth, and I am looking forward to what else God has in store for me in the future.
